“Let's Slogo” – the official competition for a logo and slogan for the European Year of Volunteering:

[15 December 2009] Final decision of the winning logo and slogan postponed

The European Commission has officially announced that the final selection of the winning logo and slogan for the European Year of Volunteering 2011 has been postponed and will not take place until the New Year. We have been notified by the European Commission that the delay is due to a new Commission, likely to take office in late January 2010, as well as related internal structural changes. In the framework of these structural changes the Citizenship Policy unit that has been dealing with the preparation of the European Year will be moved to the Directorate-General Communication.

The finalists can be assured that an equivalent prize for the winners will be offered in 2010 and the finalists will be contacted directly by the services of the European Commission in charge of the selection.

[30 October 2009] You selected your favourite logos and slogans for the European Year of Volunteering 2011 in a Public Online Voting.

1259 logo and slogan entries have been sent to us. 3500 people have cast their vote over the two weeks of the Public Online Voting and more than 7000 have visited this website during this same period. You can now see the most voted entries in this page.

The 20 short-listed logos and slogans have been submitted to the European Commission, which will choose the winning logo and slogan that will become the official logo and slogan of the European Year of Volunteering 2011.

What happens next?

A high level jury convoked by the European Commission with representatives of European institutions, civil society and media professionals will do the final selection. The finalists will be informed by the end of November 2009 and invited to come to Brussels for an award ceremony, which will take place on 16 December 2009.

The competition organisers would like to thank all those who took part in the competition and in the Public Online Voting.
